How-to: Protect your Telligent Community website from spammers

One should always be aware that your site could be attacked by spam bots if you don’t take the proper precautions. The easiest and quickest way to help prevent 500+ spam users from joining your site is to configure the default options to make it harder for spam bots to create accounts. How-to: protect your Telligent Community website from rouge spiders with a robots text file

Over the course of the past two years, I have worked on a number of Community Server sites. The goal of these tips are to share useful information about Telligent's Community platform. How-to: Delete dangling files from a Telligent Community database

The other day I came across a bug when upgrading my site to Community Server 2008. The Community Server 2008 upgrade tool would throw an exception when trying to move my files into CFS. This might not seem like such a bad thing, but it is for two reasons: You have a file that is taking up database space that isn’t accessible within Community Server. Community Server appends the SectionID to file name. Since the SectionID is null an exception will be thrown when creating...

Community Server 2007 migration bug

Tonight we updated windowscoding.com to Community Server 2007. After a while of messing around I noticed that I couldn't access and blog posts. Soon enough, after enough looking around we noticed that the query string had \themes\blogs obviously something was wrong. So I went and messaged my friend and twice time co-worker Rick Reszler if he had any clue as to the reason of my error. He quickly told me that this happens on some sites only after they are migrated from 2.x to 3.x and all you have to do is change the blog theme from default to some other theme and then back to default. However...

DasBlog to Telligent Community Server 2.0 blog converter

My friend Ryan Hoffman , who is currently interning at Telligent ; has created a DasBlog to Community Server 2.1 blog converter. Hopefully like my Firefox to IE7 application will let others experience different applications in the same category of software; in this case blogging. I highly recommend anyone with DasBlog to test this out and let me and Ryan know what you think.
